Milan

Another easy train trip and it was relatively easy to get to the host…other than the SNOW. What?!!! I do not like snow pelting my face and I prefer Texas snow that goes away in a couple hours and no pelting. Honestly, I did not like Milan. The only thing really to see was the beautiful church but there were so many peddlers (?). There were these men from Africa, or so they say, pushing their hand  woven bracelets on you saying “no cost, no cost” then wanting a donation. Mandi got caught by one and he tied the thing on her wrist saying it is for Africa but not saying which country in Africa. Very aggressive and all I could think was so you could steal more children for your wars. I know that may not be what they were about but it left a bad taste for an unproductive day. Our hostel was just as bad. Mandi and I booked for a eight person dorm and when we arrive there were two double beds and two bunk beds. Then they said we had to share a bed. Not a big deal but if you pay for a bunk bed you want a bunk bed. So it gets worse, we were put by the window (remember it is snowing outside) with one blanket to share (gratefully I have a spare) and they had no extras. So we took one from the empty bed for one night but the room was full the rest of our time there. This was the only place that allowed smoking in the hostel so it was stinky especially in the common kitchen that was on the top floor. It is hard to cook or even prepare food when everything smells like ash. So Milan is the worst city we stayed in (Almoroe, Spain was not really a city but it was defiantly the worst).
