Bristol

Caroline is the daughter of my dearest friend Joan. She and I have been emailing since before our trip and planning on this visit. I have known Caroline for years but have not seen her for two years so I was happy to hug her again. Mandi had not met her yet but was excited. She pick us up and we are off to her flat to recover from the six hour trip, talk and have fish and chips for dinner. Yummy, I love it and curry sauce. We then get ready and go to a boat for a concert. Ha, the first band was three girls trying to learn how to talk or make noise to a tune and it is not my age everyone else did not like them either. We get up the next day to have lunch and Joan’s eldest daughter, Stephanie. What a blessing to meet her oldest daughter and husband (Paul) I have heard so much about. We had a great time and then we were off to Bath and guess what, it rained and hailed. At this point all you can do is laugh. I even saw some ducks standing outside a restaurant instead of being in the river. They probably thought “enough is enough please eat me.” I have learned I like pear cider, another yummy. We have a night in and just talk, how nice it is to just sit in a living room and enjoy your friends company. Something I will not take for granted again. Since Caroline had done her own world travel it was fun talking about all the quirky stuff you see and experience, especially in hostels. It had to happen, I guess, Mandi starts to feel ill so we get her some meds pack our exploded bags because we have to go again off to Ireland…
