We flew on Condor airlines and the plane wasn't bad but it wasn't great either - I think that they only fly out of BWI once or twice a week, hence the issue with the flight before. But the important thing is that we made it - we are currently at our hostel in Frankfurt, we've validated our rail pass and we made reservations to go to Copenhagen tomorrow!!! We only got a little lost looking for the hostel in Frankfurt because we came out of a side enterance of the rail station instead of the main entrance. Oops - also one person on the street took pity on us and directed us back to where needed to be - thank God! So everything has gone well, no really huge issues so far, and let's hope it stays that way!
We are in an 8-bed room in the hostel and yes, it is an all-female dorm! At the moment there are still 3 beds free but God only knows how long that will remain that way, as there is a festival of some kind here tomorrow and the place is going to be full up which is why tomorrow we move on. While in Copenhagen we hope to map out the next few parts of the trip better so that we can make reservations as need be - especially for December, since the Chrismas markets are so big around here.
Wooohooo, you all made it nice have fun enjoy this once in a life time trip. I wish I could be there. Malachi, Tangie, Daneille and Dasaiy now wants to go.
ReplyDeleteBut need to get a nice room LOL, 8 person dorm humm okay.
Ahhhh, I completely forgot you would be there to go to the Weihnachtsmarkt! You HAVE to take pictures (which I know is a given)!
ReplyDeleteBut... every time you take a picture you lose part of your soul... right? He he he - yes,, there will be many pictures and lots of drinking of the hot mulled wine!
DeleteTry to go to Rothenberg, Germany in December. When I went to Europe YEARS ago, Rothenberg was one of my favorite stops, granted we went in the summer. The old part of the city is walled in and you can walk the wall the whole way around. Plus, there is a bar called Hell that has been in existence since the late 1500's so in the future if people tell you to "Go to Hell" you can say you've been there and had a beer :) AND there's also a really cool Christmas store (the reason you should go in December). Auschwitz, if I'm remembering correctly, is not that far from there, as well as Berlin.
