Now is the time....

We leave today at 9:30 pm.  The flight is 8 hours and 10 mins.  We have packed and re-packed (I'm still undecided to take one pair of jeans or two) and are as prepared as we can be for an adventure where we really don't know what to expect.  We have booked our first night at a hostel in Frankfurt and after that we are heading up to Copenhagen, Denmark for about 3 days.  We are then planning on heading down to Bulgaria to see if we can catch Dad and Carole in Sofia.  We can't reserve any train trips until our rail passes are validated so that's made things a little interesting, but we'll figure it out.  We went to a hostel in Washington, DC in order to get our membership for Hosteling International so that we can take advantage of the discounts that come with membership.  We took the metro in, so we feel good about being able to figure out the rail system based on our excursion into the nation's capital!  Hehehehe - you know, except it'll all be in another language!

I'm nervous, but excited.  Those of you who know me can probably picture my happy / hyper dance.  Yeah, I've been doing that since I picked Ana up at the airport.  It's become more real to me in the past few days than it has ever been before - this is my dream and it's finally come true.  I am so blessed to be able to do this and to have someone to come with me.  And I do hope that I come back changed - hopefully a better version of who I am now (because I think I rock).  The roadtrip has been great, my friend Anne is going to be taking care of Big Sexy while I'm gone and she'll be picking us up from the airport when we come back.  We're thinking when we're back stateside we'll take a couple days and go around  DC and relax before doing the roadtrip back.

Our next update will be from Europe - Love to all and see you on the other side of the pond!!!
